We often times see water damaged iPhones come through our repair centers and successfully fix many of them. When we can't fix it, it's because of corrosion or because the user tried to turn the iPhone on while it was still wet (or never turned it off when it got wet). When you iPhone gets wet, the first thing you should do is turn it off, take off the back cover, battery and remove the SIM card and give it 72 hours to dry before attempting to power it back on.

This is solid advice for most mobile phones, in addition to the ultimate security blanket, which consists of throwing the phone is a bag or box of rice and mailing it down to us.

One thing that people don't consider though is salt water. Salt water is an iPhone killer. Sand at the beach can also have similar negative affects. The salt can be highly corrosive.

If your phone gets dropped in salt water, you want to dip it into clean, fresh water to rinse the salt out (powered off). This way you can get much of the salt out and rid the phone of corrosive elements that will kill a phone. Once it dries you should mail it to us because we will be sure to get rid of all of the salt, through a proven technique that separates us from much of the competition.

This is just a little tip for all of you iPhone addicts who enjoy the beach and boating life like we do at iFixyouri and constantly put your phone at risk while playing in the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.
