National Indoor Comfort Week

National Indoor Comfort Week

The Colony, Texas -- Area heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) firms are celebrating National Indoor Comfort Week® April 22-28. Initiated by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) in 2003, National Indoor Comfort Week highlights the contributions America's HVACR professionals make to their communities.

"Most of us take indoor comfort for granted," said Katherine Everett, vice president of Colony Air Conditioning and Heating, "until the heat or air conditioning goes out. I know I couldn't live in Texas without air conditioning! As far as I'm concerned, no other industry or technology has had such a broad impact on modern American life as HVACR."

"Refrigeration made possible by HVACR contractors enables us to enjoy fresh food from all over the world," she said. "Plus, HVACR contractors are responsible for the 'cold chain' that's so critical to the medical industry."

"HVACR contractors are also responsible for the technological and computer advancements that have made the American economy what it is today. These temperature-sensitive technologies could not have been made if it weren't for the 'clean rooms' and temperature-controlled rooms designed by HVACR contractors."

Nationally, the HVACR industry employs nearly 250,000 people in a variety of technical and management positions. These are skilled, well-paying jobs. In addition, most ACCA member contractors are small, independent businesses who make up the backbone of our country.

"We are proud to have the opportunity to share with the rest of the country the positive impacts HVACR systems have on our lives," Everett said. "And we are glad to have the chance to thank our hardworking technicians who make all this possible."

ACCA represents the nationwide educational, policy, and technical interests of small businesses who design, install, and maintain indoor environmental systems. Colony Air Conditioning and Heating is a member of ACCA and has been serving residents of North Texas since 1977. For more information visit their website www.colonyac.com
