The trick to highly effective cardio is interval training. This makes your body never settle into a rhythm as your doing your cardio. Thus making your body constantly work to try to find a rhythm. It is a very simple process, simply choose your methond of cardio. Begin at a slow pace for 5 mins to warm up and get the blood flowing. Now is when the work begins. For the next 15 mins alternate 1 minute of high exertion followed by 2 minutes of moderate exertion.
At the high exertion level your burning mostly carbohydrates. During the moderate cycles your burning more fat, so with interval training you get the best of both worlds. After your 15 mins youll feel very taxed and the cool down process begins. Slowly decrease your activity to a low level and continue for 5-10 mins. It is very important to stretch for 5 mins after this type of work as your muscles will become very stiff if you do not.
