Get that list...

When you buy a car, you take all the necessary precautions to make sure you save money. I know I did when I first started looking for a car this past summer. I narrowed down my list of potentials, and then I started shopping around.

But I made sure to stay in control during the entire process. I looked for the places I could buy my car and then I comparison shopped. I researched on Consumer Reports the strategies that could help me save money and find the best dealers. I stayed open to possibly getting different models and colors in exchange for a deep discount on the car.

I went into each dealership knowing what I was looking for and would not accept prices that were not in my budget or accessories that did not fit my lifestyle. When I called dealerships to know that I was seeing if they could meet/beat a price, I was only willing to pay X dollars for a certain brand, model and color. This assertiveness put me in the driver?s seat and allowed me to get the exact car I wanted for the price I wanted.

Buying goods and services in your everyday life should be no different. Car shopping is an extreme example because it is an everyday purchase, but the priciple still applies: you should not overpay for goods and services that can be easily replaced with a similar product for much cheaper. However, this is easier said than done. In a busy world, oftentimes we take for granted the fact that we can easily save money by changing our lifestyles slightly.

We started this website to help people save money and find information about small businesses in an extremely fragmented market. Fragmentation means inefficiency, and where there is inefficiency, there is a way to make things better. With CitySlick, businesses can let consumers know what they charge and what promotions they have. Consumers can make CitySlick a one stop shop on the internet to find discounts and ways to save money.

And who knows? With all the money you save from day to day, maybe you?ll be able to go out and buy that new car you wanted.
